Bar and Restaurant
Traditional Food from Local Produce
Bar - The open log fire and stone flagged floor are traditional in this county bar.
We serve real cask ales from the local Jennings Brewery.
Delicious bar meals area available throughout the year.
All our food is locally sourced and our pork products come from our own pigs reared on our local farm. Meat and fish are sourced within a 20 mile radius including local fisheries and farms.
We can cater for special dietary requirements including our own gluten free Cumberland sausages.

Hazel has her own pigs on the family farm, which she produces into sausages, pork, Cumberland, pork & leek and hot and spicy. The 4 oz. and 8 oz. gammons and the hot sizzling bacon or sausage baguettes are a must to try. Hazel also finds time to make a large selection of homemade desserts such as raspberry Pavlova and sticky rhubarb and ginger sponge. At The George we think it's important to plan our menu to what's in season and we source everything as locally as possible producing quality home cooked food for all to enjoy.
The George Hotel, Orton offers a varied menu catering for all tastes and appetites. Wherever possible we use local produce from local suppliers including local farmers who also sell produce for you to take home. If you are lucky you can buy from the Farmers market which is held in the village on the second Saturday of the month. The menu changes throughout the year to reflect seasonal availability, as well as offering some specials to make the most of items not always available on a regular basis.
We are happy to discuss any special dietary requirements and will do our best to cater for these needs. You can choose to eat in the bar or go through to our dining room. We have a good variety of wines to accompany your meal as well as a wide selection of liqueurs to finish the meal off. We also offer tea and a full range of coffees, from espresso to cappuccino as well as liqueur coffees, available throughout the day.

The restaurant area is ideal for birthday parties, christenings, celebrations and funerals. Buffets can be provided from £3 per head.
